A sigh escaped Yo's lips as she observed the scenery spread out. The water of the outrageously huge ocean was lapping at the edge of the wooden docks, with a boat stopped at the pier. It didn't look like it was going anywhere any time soon, with much of the crew gone and only a few remaining to tidy up. She could hear the annoying calls of the seagulls flying above, and while she had heard them basically all her life, she couldn't get used to the agitating noise they emitted. It was like they didn't have anything better to do than bark at each other all day like a couple of dogs. With what seemed to be a permanent scowl settled on her features, the blonde girl leaned against one of the fences that kept children or just morons in general from falling into the hungry mouth of the sea.
She was supposed to be meeting her brother here, but he had yet to show his face. While she had arrived a bit earlier than the time they had agreed on, she couldn't help but feel the impatience boiling up inside. Hiro was, as other members of the family said, a failure. He thought the hunting of monsters, demons or youkai was completely unnecessary. While Yo didn't exactly agree with him, she didn't disagree either. Some of the demons that the Ebisawa family took care of were harmless; they were just blending into society and living their every day lives. However, there were constant supernatural dangers that far outnumbered the innocent. People were dying. They were being killed by disguised monsters that would lure them in and eat them. That she couldn't stand. Her thoughts going into a jumble, she slipped her hand down to touch one of the pistols held on her hip by their holster. On one note, she wished that demons and humans could coexist. On another, she hoped the monsters would just disappear off the face of the planet. They did more evils than good, she reckoned.
The bespectacled girl glanced up at the sky once more, squinting her eyes at the glare of the sun. She liked summer, she really did, but the heat could really affect her. The constant uncomfortableness given by the weather made her even more agitated than normal, and she sort of wished winter would just arrive already. For a moment, she dreamed of cool air and how nice a hot bath would feel in deep winter, but a new realization hit her soon after; school. With winter came the forced tuition, and while she was pretty good at academics, she hated it more than anything. Mostly it was just the fact that she would have to deal with idiotic people every day, five days a week and that was something she had trouble dealing with. Yo grimaced for a moment, wishing that she could just stay on the streets for the year. After all, school was very well not going to teach her anything about keeping the city safe from monsters. "I bet they all don't even realize how affected this city is, ne." She hissed under her breath.

Kooji was walking down the docks with a content mood, while whistling a jolly tune. He was jubilant today, from an event which happened today. A demon hunter was chasing him, after Kooji accidentally revealed himself. He killed the hunter, without even turning into a demon, slicing his head off. Kooji was'nt joyed by that part, but how he carried the hunters body and dug him a quality grave, instead of abandoning the body to rot. Kooji smiled proudly at the sun, which was almost ready to take it's nap. A fine deed for a respected samurai (well, respected hundreds of years ago). Kooji could hear the beautiful melody of the seagulls, the sky at it's most radiant peek and the sweet aroma of the sea. He felt like a god, the most wealthiest man in the world, and many more. Haha, It's surprising what the sea will make you feel like! Kooji examined the docks, it was mid-afternoon, many of the fisherman just arrived or already deserted the docks to their homes. Kooji was here to relax, but not quiet done yet. Before unwinding to the atmosphere, Kooji was to fish....with his bare-hands.
He quickly rushed to the edge of the docks, but came to an immediate halt. He noticed a girl, a cute girl, and she wasn't a fisherma--fisherwoman either. This could be chance! The girl I was waiting for! The girl that destiny brought to me! Kooji is aware that he repeats those words in his mind, to every girl he spots, but it makes him feel a bit more confident and dauntless. Kooji decided, he will impress that female with glasses, by catching a fish and giving it as a gift. Kooji didn't want to fail this time with a girl, he was ready to galvanize. Without any hesitation, he screamed, Hey! Over here! Name's Kooji, First officer of the Nagao clan, and get ready!. Kooji delayed for a minute, and regretted mentioning is position in the Nagao clan, a famous clan 500 years ago. Kooji was part of numerous clans, and he enjoys alternating between the names. Even though he always regrets referencing the clans he was part of, he still has his bad habit.
Kooji carefully examined the water, noticing the current and the fool. He didn't want to make a fool of himself, even though he caught fish barehanded numerous times. His eye's closing in, targeting a small group of fish, waiting for the current to be at its perfect point. With a flash, he dived in, his hands following the current of the ocean smoothly, and grabbing a large colorful fish with ease. Success, Kooji managed to do, while looking pretty swell himself. Kooji climbed back onto the docks, ready to give his new love the fish. Kooji walked towards the girl, but was getting more hesitant and nervous while walking closer. When Kooji finally head to head with girl, he paused, his face unable to move. After an awkward minute, Kooji finally spoke. "I...I've gotten this fish for you.". Kooji put the fish out, handing it to the girl. His mind was starting a dispute, he could've said far more, something witty, kind or extravagant. Instead, he approached her the most awkward way possible....

nothing like starting your day with a nasty hangover from the night before. too many drinks and girls and not enough sleep or cares can give you a killer headache. hiro's cure is to just don't give a fuck and continue with your everyday life as you would normally do. do this process with a bottle of some foreign drink in one hand and a just cleaned pistol in the other; just in case someone tries to mess with you. obviously this has happened more than once since he already has the process memorized. cold shower, cup of coffee, alcoholic drink in hand and load his guns and avoid his parents at all costs. the rents make things complicated and don't like it when you go around ruining the family name. especially if the name was ebisawa.
hiro ebisawa's family had been in the hunter business since the town first started. generations of the blonde haired assassins that are trained from the moment they leave the womb. they have been honored with medals from across the years for their commitment to killing every last demon. it does not matter if they are living their lives peacefully. nor is it a concern if they are just trying to blend in. every single one of them had to be slaughtered and used as a trophy. hiro obviously didn't feel the passion or need to harm others like his family did. when did humans get the sudden power over other living things? they could just as easily be trying to communicate with the monsters instead of shooting their heads off. frankly, it was quite disgusting to hiro and he didn't like having that sort of power-hungry feeling when he had to kill something. so the job of the hunter wasn't his choice at all.
if it wasn't for yo, hiro probably won't even bother living. she was his twin sister and quite possibly the most stunning, smartest girl he would ever meet. she was the whole point that he stayed alive and did the job he hated. she was the reason why he won't move out of the house and why he attempts to reconnect with their family. she was slightly smaller than he was and had long blonde pig tailed hair. she wore the cutest little outfits and was always embarrassingly blushing. she spoke with words of ice and never showed any indication that she was paying attention to you. she was the strong one; she had to be with hiro has her brother. he was always messing up one thing or another and she was there to clean it up. she would pretend to be angry but hiro could always see that she cared. hopefully she would forgive him again for not only being late but for smelling like days worth of cheap drinks.
hiro was wearing a casual outfit that he had randomly thrown on. his blonde hair was sticking up everywhere and felt greasy and thick under his touch. green dotted orbs were half open under his heavily circled eyes. pale skin reflected the golden rays from the afternoon sun and sparkled almost as well as his drink did. he strolled at a moderate pace and didn't even bother to speed up his pace. he was already late; might as well enjoy his quiet time before he got there. nothing like a bit of silence to help with a terrible headache. as his soft lips touched the top of the bottle he could see his sister in the distance. she looked completely pissed off and was standing with this albino freak with a fish. what the fuck is he doing? hiro thought as he jogged over to them. well, at least attempted to jog with his sore legs and his gag reflexes destroying most of his lungs. it felt as if a flame was slowly burning away his throat as he almost hurled all over himself. he managed to gain control of his body as he completely came to a small walk. he was close enough to see the glitter in albino kid's hair before he pulled out his pistol with his free hand. "you have five fucking seconds to get the fuck away from my sister, you smelly creep."

A rather random yell brought Yo's attention back to the real world, her eyes flitted with confusion as she glanced to find the source. And there he was. There was a man off of the dock, fishing in the shallow water, except that he didn't have a fishing pole; he was using his hands. Like some sort of otter, he just went and scooped one of the many aquatic life out. For a moment, she wasn't sure if he was just an idiot or actually a bit clever. However, the next events proved her original idea. As the strange man clambered up onto the dock, fish in hand, he seemed to have a strange look on his face that disturbed Yo just a bit. He stood awkwardly in front of the girl with his hands outstretched and the slimy carp quite in her view now. Her face screwed into a scowl as his awkward words spilled out, making Yo believe he wasn't just a moron but a freak. Not replying to his statement, she stared back up at him with an icy green gaze.
Yo already had a plan in mind if he didn't get the hint to get lost. Her hand was on one of the twin pistols, preparing to lash it out if he stuck around any longer. She didn't really have any ill will to the man; she just didn't want him to be around her any longer than he had to be. Although Yo did like the idea of 'love' and 'affection', she wasn't one to show it and this guy wasn't really her type. She liked boys who could hold their ground in a real emergency. It also helped to have a handsome face, and while the stranger wasn't ugly, he looked weak and silly. A grimace suddenly filled Yo's features as a realization hit her. Ne, I only attract morons and freaks. Morons being the majority of earth and freaks being her beloved brother. As she glanced back up from her thoughts, she realized the weird man was still there, and with a sigh she almost thought she would have to do something about it.
As she began to unbuckle the holster to the gun, a glimpse of messy blonde hair paused her movements. In just moments, she could hear the familiar foul-languaged speech and a smile almost fluttered onto her features. Luckily, Yo stopped herself before it could actually form on her face, giving herself a weird expression as she put up a false expression of anger towards her brother. "Hiro, what took you so long, ne!? And why do you have that out! Ne, put it away before someone sees!" Her tone was scolding, but she was honestly excited to see her sibling again. The blonde stepped away from the fish man and trotted towards Hiro as calmly as she could. She was thinking about grabbing his hand, but the scent of alcohol and uncleanliness hit her as soon as she got close. "You were out drinking again?" It came out more like a statement and the friendliness and affection she once held drifted into more of an agitation. She hated it when her brother went out and played without her, and while she most certainly didn't want to go along with him on his little get togethers, a feeling of jealousy settled in her heart at the thought of him hanging about other women daily. She couldn't stand it and that was all there was to it.

Kooji knew he failed with the young female. But the events that were played after, were strange. During his awkward pause with the fish, a man from behind pulls out a firearm. Kooji had the time to drop the fish and quickly tilt himself towards the gunman. He had a rough look, and the tone of his voice was crass. The white-haired demon took a quick sniff of himself. He didn't have a fetid odor, instead he had an essence of Sake and a cherry blossom incense. Kooji pulled a bit of a smirk, but tried his best to hide it. To him, the gunman should know who the opponent was, or his style, not just flail his gun out to anyone. His hand held on his sheath, Kooji whisked out his kantana, only exposing a small amount of metal from the sheath, so he could quickly strike the blonde drunk. Before he could launch a swift strike, he was interrupted. The young girl calmed the gunmen down, and talked like they knew each other. oooh. So they're in love. My mistake. Kooji was a bit disappointed that the girl was already taken, but Kooji knew that he might be able to find the love of his life one day.
Kooji grabbed the fish, and tossed it back into the water. "Live long, Minawa." The white-haired demon decided to name the fish that he threw. His intentions unknown for the naming, but Kooji thought it would be gaiety. With all done, he decided to relax to the view of the sea, which was the original purpose, and ignore the other two. He took out a bottle of Sake, and took a sip, waiting for the sun to slowly vanish. Kooji was hoping for a relaxing ocean sunset, the constant bickering of the couple was irritating him. Kooji stood up, and pointed at the sun. "Look, you love birds! The sunset is about to start!" Kooji spoke more confidently this time, knowing that the female was already in a relationship, he wasn't worried anymore of himself. He took his Sake bottle, and held it towards the two, offering them the drink. "You two lovebirds head home after the sunset, demons are a plenty here in the dark." Even though Kooji headed to the docks for the sole purpose of relaxing, he had some opponents to face. He took a long sigh, Kooji thought it might be nice to have some company, while viewing the sudden changes of color in the sky.

there was only one issue that hiro ever had with his sister. she hates when he lives his own life without her. of course he lives his life for yo and her beautiful smile, however he has never had the feelings for her like he did for other girls. every time hiro gets a girlfriend all hell breaks loose. yo hates not being the only girl iin his life. she will scream and yell and pull nasty pranks on the girls until they dump him. the sad part is that yo has never had a boyfriend, so hiro doesn't know how he would react to knowing that a guy was fucking his sister. probably the same way yo reacts to all the girls that hiro does.
you were out drinking again? yo said with a tone similar to ice stabbing you in the chest. or maybe that was the half-burning toxins slowly rising up from his throat. it was melting the inside of his body for him to try to keep it in. the drinks wanted out and his lungs wanted out and his chest wanted out. hell, even hiro wanted out of his body for a few minutes. he quickly stumbled over to the water's edge and let out a nice parade of colors. the pain still ate at his stomach and his lungs felt as if they were going to give out right then. after he stopped almost hyperventilating and his face turned back to the right color of pale, he saw that the albino man was talking again. he barely listened to anything he said and just watched the man point and speak in that annoying fucking accent. that's when hiro ebisawa remembered that his gun was still firmly in his hand.
"first of all, we are not lovebirds. this is my sister for god's sake." he said, aiming the gun straight for the man's head. hopefully the guy would take a hint and leave. hiro was already in big trouble with his sister for drinking way too much and having a terrible hangover; the last thing he wanted was a nosey albino trying to create a moment. he took a small breath of air and let the pain crawl down his chest. "just leave, alright? you don't want trouble and i really don't feel like shooting you." he said in a calmer tone than before. hiro would never actually shoot the guy even if he attacked him. his guns were all show and were not in use at all. the whole "phase" he was going through, as his mother put it, was that he didn't want to hurt anyone. he just wanted to live his own life and let others live theirs. however, living in a family where killing other living things is a life-career he had no choice but to carry guns. demons tended to hold grudges against the family for obvious reasons.

Yo had long since begun ignoring the weird man, blocking his voice out of her head as she pried for answers from her sibling. He didn't look well at all, the color in his face completely faded and pale. She wondered for a moment if he had gotten alcohol poisoning. She had seen people on tv getting it quite a bit from binge drinking, and she suspected that was just the thing Hiro did in his free time when he was out of her sight. While she wasn't certain if it always caused death, for a split second she was worried, staring at Hiro with an analyzing gaze in search for anything that would show if he was alright or not. However, the blonde girl felt that her question was answered when the taller of the twins ran towards the railing of the dock, releasing all the substances from the night before into the ocean. Her nose wrinkled in disgust as she watched on.
Before Yo could even bother to contemplate helping him, the words spilled out of his lips, striking her heart like thorns. While it was true they were nothing more than siblings, he didn't have to put it that way. While they were less than lovers, they were more than just brother and sister, Yo felt. They had been together for longer than she could remember, just living side-by-side through daily life. She felt the hurt, but she shook it off quickly. "Hiro, ne, quit it! You can't be throwing that gun around in public, ne." She said, clutching the sleeve of his wrist. All that mattered now was making her brother act less like a moron and think more with his head. While she felt flattered that he would do such a thing for her, it did more worse than good. Her own two guns were in plain sight as well, straddled on her waist by a belt, but they only acted as tools to keep people away. While Hiro would certainly never shoot anyone, she never knew if he would slip up. He usually did things like that.

The sun finally has set, and the docks mute. Kooji would've been enjoying this peaceful atmosphere, if it wasn't for those two. He knew the female was ignoring him, but the drunk blonde. Those two kept on quibbling with eachother, and the drunk, who's name was Hiro, kept on pointing the pistol at Kooji. The samurai hated firearms, it totally changed the way of how samurai clans fought with eachother, when it appeared in the late edo era. He remembered when his men were unprepared from the constant gunshots, Kooji lost a huge number of men. Once the firearm became popular, his tacticians had to be changed, and many samurai's no longer fought with honor.Kooji look at the floor, closing his eyes, trying to ignore the gun. It was difficult, the constant waving of the gun, the grim memories were coming back to him. Kooji opened his eyes, and his face was exposing a slight anger.
The white haired samurai stood up, and grabbing his sheath, and thrusted out his kantana just so, a bit of metal would be exposed. He grabbed the hilt of his blade, and was about to strike. "Stop pointing that worthless piece of junk metal at me" Without anymore delay, he swiftly rushed at the drunk, with great speed and swung his blade. The drunk blonde was now only holding handle of his pistol, while the barrel and frame layed on the grounds. Kooji took a large sigh of relief "...Life's better without those useless firearm junk" The white haired samurai kept the blade in his hands though, just in case the drunk became aggressive, or if his sister assaulted back...
The white haired samurai stood up, and placed his hands on the hilt of his blade.
