"this is why i'm hot, this is why i'm hot
I'M HOT CAUSE I'M FLY, YOU AIN'T CAUSE YOU NOT"this is why i'm hot, this is why i'm hot" T his heat would be the death of him. What were the symptoms of heat stroke again? Well, whatever the heck they were, that'd be a sucky way to go. Killed by the blasted sun. If only the luminescent, gentle moon was out. But alas, it was the blazing, violent sun that was out. Out and trying to kill him. Trying to sap away every last ounce of his being. The ruler of the sun, or maybe even the sun itself, was probably laughing down at him, especially considering his attempt to act human. Which, that meant, he could not stick his tongue out and start panting. That would be both embarrassing and inhuman. If there were any hunters out, they'd probably spot something fishy about a man walking around with his tongue lolling to the side. Yes, that was something he most definitely did not want to do. That wouldn't be happening though. He was, after all, heading toward a place of refreshment. Refreshment from this heat.
Oh, and hot babes.
Yep, you guessed right! Tetryl Emery Hund was heading toward the beach. His hot, literally hot, body was anxious to get into the hopefully cold water. From where he was at, he could already hear the sound of others. This only made his pace quicken. He was heading in a different direction than the sounds though, heading off toward a more secluded area of the beach. This may seem strange, especially for one such as himself. At the moment though Tetryl was far, far from comfortable. His head was throbbing and lightheaded; all he wanted to do was, for once, avoid people and just mess around where he couldn't get arrested or something.
Not able to keep his steady pace any longer, he broke out into a run. His long legs carried him fast as he breathed in the rush of wind that hit him. Unfortunately, this man made wind was as humid as the air all around him. It didn't take long at all for him to arrive; already he was on the edge of the sand. Making sure no one was around, he kicked off his shoes before continuing to run across the hot sand. His feet didn't even pain him, his red eyes now locked onto the ocean. Somewhere between the sand and the water he lost his shirt, taking it off just in time to full speed at the water.
Coolness hit him and surrounded his body, gently embarrassing his warm and sweaty body. Tetryl breathed a sigh of content as he swam deeper out into the ocean. Once his tall body couldn;t reach the ocean floor anymore, he let himself float upon his back. Thankfully, his closed eyes were not looking at the bright sun any longer, his body positioned away from it. A smile on his face, he simply just floated about, losing himself somewhere in the rhythm of the waves. [/blockquote] ooc:// private thread for Dream and I. looking straight into your eyes i catch reflecions of the skies aryn absolutely hated the water. which made it rather curious as to why she lived on an island, much less why she was at the beach. it was incredibly hot that day. but she wasn't wearing a swimsuit. she wore a cute little sundress that looked comfortable to be in, but not so much that it was unattractive. she sat in the sand, letting her toes dig into the warm sand, the grainy white blanket very comforting to be in. but she wouldn't dare touch the water.
she was in a pretty secluded area, slightly shaded and away from most of the beach-goers. as usual, she had her face shoved in a book. a very indulging tale of a man who saves a girl from uncertain death. and afterward, they fall in love, just like that. she was always so amused by how easily humans could find to love each other, and at the same time, she was so very envious. demons could never get away with such acts. for some youkai, she figured they didn't even know what the concept of chivalry was. sometimes aryn wished that some guy would do that to her--do things that were preposterous and life-threatening, just to be with her. just to be by her side. she'd never reveal that to anyone else. they would surely laugh, would they not?
but she knew how other demons were. most demons only cared about themselves, and made sure they were in a fit state to live. she had those instincts as well. if there was a situation in which she felt unsafe, she did whatever was necessary to feel safe again. even if it meant cutting off some strings she valued. she'd done it before. she didn't know why any other demon wouldn't. that was the reason humans confused her so. it was so obvious that they were in danger, and humans were quite aware of it; but they continued to do what was right for someone else rather than themselves. the word was selfless. one of the only words that aryn wasn't completely familiar with.
she ripped her mind away from the book and placed it beside her and began to pull her fingers through her light salmon coloured hair, making sure there weren't any knots in it. then she spotted a curious looking fellow running into the water, in the same relative area that she was in. he was curious. but he acted just like a human. still there was something very inhuman about him. when he ran by, an awful scent caught her nose. it couldn't have been him... could it? it was the distinct scent of canine. she ignored it. maybe she was being paranoid. her youkai's instinct again, she reckoned... she picked up her book so she may have an excuse to ignore him and locked her bright blue eyes onto the text, her eyes scanning it hungrily.

Eyes still closed, the tall, lanky male let himself float about. There was, at the moment, nothing better than this. Now, if only he had a popsicle or something; eating something cold on a hot day such as today always seemed much more enjoyable. Yes, a popsicle did indeed sound good. Tetryl was much too lazy though and refused to ruin the peace of mind he had achieved. Of course, he would never admit that outloud; he had a persona to keep up. No one wanted some goody-goody-two-shoes who only wants peace and tranquility. Anyways, that wasn't really his style. Still, this whole "keeping still" thing was kind of nice...
At least it was into a giant wave picked him up, raised him high into the air, and disposed of him on the beach once again. Tetryl had landed face first, a mouthful of sand his reward for actually trying to slow down for once. Usually he was a very good swimmer; he swam like a "dog", so to speak. Unfortunately for him, the high rising wave had been a surprise for him.
One of his red eyes visibly twitching, Tetryl pushed himself up into a sitting position as his lungs ached for air, burning from the water he had swallowed. His recover time was quick. Soon enough he had jumped on his feet, shaking himself out, especially his hair. This, again, was just like a dog. Tetryl couldn't help it though. Not one bit.
His scowl transformed with ease, changing into a good natured smile. He shrugged his shoulders as if to say, "shit happens." That was very true. It was then that his crimson red eyes spotted a form not too far away. He blinked, trying to determine if his eyes were playing tricks on him or not; his eyesight could be far from par at times. It would be easier if he could see all of the colours people say he's missing out on. With a few blinks he determined that he was indeed not alone. Had they been there long? Tetryl handed noticed them when he ran across the sand. Then again, he could be rather oblivious.
Tetryl found himself drawn closer and closer though he wasn't exactly sure why. It didn't take long before he noticed this person was a female; a hot and beautiful female at that. He didn't seem to care what-so-ever if he was caught looking her over. For a second he stopped in his progress forward, spotting his red shirt covered with sand. Maybe trying not to look indecent, or maybe for some other reason, Tetryl pulled it on over his head. No longer was his chest and bare top exposed to the world. Now, he was wearing a shirt with his swim trunks.
No more distraction in the way, Tetryl finally closed the distance in between the girl and himself. She had such pretty yellow hair. Not an ugly yellow, but a paler, pretty one. His nose twitched as he seemed to sniff the air, taking a big breath in to help him scent it. This could easily look like a yawn though. Just like her appearance, her scent was so pretty. There was something about him that drove him wild. He suddenly felt like running, chasing her, and maybe even sniffing her more.
"Yo." Tetryl held up a peace sign, a doggy grin across his face. "You smell so pretty." he didn't seem to notice what he said until the last second. Not panicked or anything, he gave a casual shrug. "Oops, sorry, I meant you're pretty." Well, more like freaking hot. "I guess you're beautiful appearance distracted me."
ooc:// Sorry if it sucks. I typed this on my phone and I'm exhausted. I'll pretty it up later.

looking straight into your eyes i catch reflecions of the skies the rose-haired girl stared at the boy as he approached, almost having to cover her nose as he approached. not only did he stink, it was like a wet stink. she couldn't put her finger on exactly of what it reminded her of, but she ignored that for now. the strange man stumbled over his words in some feeble attempt to compliment her, she reckoned. she almost wanted to laugh at it. it was strange of him to mention her scent being pretty, when his smelled so foul. perhaps where he lived it was very common to smell bad things and also have an atrocious odor in the process so smelling those who had a normal scent was eye-opening. she shrugged mentally. she wasn't sure what to say to him, his compliment seemed so winded.
so instead of saying anything to the strange-scented man, she gave him an incredibly blank stare with her bright cerulean eyes and relocated them back to the text in her book, indulging in it magnificently. her eyes brimmed with wonder as she read, her mind turning over every word as one would eat a slice of cheesecake extremely thoroughly. the tale of lost love, being lost, feeling as though you've lost everything, then finding love again. the joy one could feel in their by seeing their love and being accepted by them again! it was very thrilling to her. being a demon, she didn't have truly human emotions like them. she often wished that she did. she often wished that she could be like them and love truly, instead of holding simple flings here and there. she wished she could feel the pain that was being in love, when they didn't want you anymore, and the relief and happiness she could feel when they came back. all of that. but she knew it was hardly possible. she was only a monster, after all. even though she was living, she was just the devil's puppet. she wasn't allowed to have feelings of her own. for someone like this, there was no future. she knew this...
she brought herself back to reality and realized that the boy was still there, hovering over her strangely enough. as though he wanted some kind of reply from her! she realized what it was he smelled so much like. wet dog. exactly like wet dog! she scrunched up her nose in disgust, but knew it would be rude to cover her nose. perhaps to make him leave quicker, she have to satiate his desire by speaking to him, even if it was only for a moment or so. so she took a deep breath and said halfheartedly, "what is it, sir...?" she sounded exremely confused, as though she had never spoken to folks before in her life. at least she could determine that she was able to hold a conversation with him--he seemed pretty intelligent, after all. she brushed some of her long pink locks of hair to the side, the bell around her neck jingling as she did so.

"this is why i'm hot, this is why i'm hot
I'M HOT CAUSE I'M FLY, YOU AIN'T CAUSE YOU NOT"this is why i'm hot, this is why i'm hot" O h, talk about harsh! Tetryl was shot down without even a word; totally ignored. The girl just gave him a blank stare, which he found himself entranced by her beautiful and dazzling eyes, before returning back to her book. Tetryl felt a pout forming on his face as he tilted his head curiously to the side. He wasn't used to be treated so coldly. Usually he was greeted with open paw- hands! Well, okay, not always. Still, Tetryl didn't expect this beauty queen looking girl to be as cold as ice. Tetryl was not one to give up though. In fact, this made him want to pursue even more. Challenges were always fun. This was going to be a real chase.
Tetryl didn't say a word as she read her book. She seemed so absorbed in it. Never before had he seen someone so into a book. Maybe this was because he wasn't too practically fond on reading. Anyways, he remained quiet. So quiet, in fact, that you would think he was gone. Of course, his tall shadow blocked some of the sun, a reminder that he was there, but other than that he was uncharacteristically quiet. But why? Was he being courteous? Or maybe he was just trying to get on her good side?
"what is it, sir...?"
Immediately, the tall boy pricked up. If he had a tail surely, at that moment, it would be wagging. He didn't seem to notice the way she scrunched up her nose. No, he was just happy she finally spoke. And oh, what a voice she had! So pretty; like the sound of chiming bells. Speaking of bells, Tetryl found himself looking at the bell around her neck. How odd; though it fit her in an angelic way. He probably shouldn't be thinking that was odd though. Tetryl himself had a chain around his neck. Unconsciously he found himself touching it from under his shirt, exposing it ever so slightly.
"Eh, nothing." he shrugged, his characteristic doggy grin growing back to his face. "Not many people come to this side of the beach." He shrugged again. "Sometimes I wonder if people forgot about this place. Guess not." Tetryl found himself gazing at her book. Would that be a good topic to talk about? For some reason he found himself at a loss for words. Maybe the book would break the ice between them somehow? "What'cha reading?" For someone so tall and usually confident he was acting rather, well, awkward. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]
